ALPENA — Richard C. Lambert, 86, of Alpena, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at SunQuest Health Care Center.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kuhler Funeral Home with the Rev. Derek Baum officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors by the Owen Kunze Post 116 American Legion. Richard C. Lambert was born Nov. 8, 1925, to Clair and Lavina (Ocean) Lambert at Wessington Springs, where he attended school. On Feb. 29, 1944, he entered the Navy and was discharged May 10, 1946. On July 5, 1952, he married Martha Diede at Huron. They lived at Alpena. He co-owned and operated Eastside Service at Alpena until he retired in 1985. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. He liked stock car racing and was on a pit crew for a number of years. He was a member of the Owen Kunze Post 116 of Alpena.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Linda (Bob) Small of Alpena; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn of Wisconsin and Douglas of Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Carol North of Huron; and two brothers-in-law, Johnny (Julia) Diede of Redfield and Jake (Arlene) Diede of Everett, Wash.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn, Frances and Glenda.
