FRANKFORT — Richard Herren, 58, of Frankfort, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Redfield.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Congregational-UCC Church in Redfield with the Rev. Tim Fugman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Frankfort. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Visit thelenfuneralhome.com.
Richard Herren was born June 11, 1954, at Redfield to Robert and Bonnie (Blaedorn) Herren. He attended Redfield High School.
He married Norma Sanders Sept. 9, 1977, at Frankfort. He graduated from Mitchell Vo-Tech with a culinary arts degree. He worked at many cafés and restaurants including S.D. Developmental Center-Redfield, Doland Now and Then, Brentford, Frankfort Habitat and Coachman Supper Club. He worked at Golden Living Center for 20 years as a cook and housekeeper.
He enjoyed hunting with his son and fishing and camping with his daughter. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
He is survived by his wife of Frankfort; a son, Steven (Anilee) of Redfield; a daughter, Lindsey (Brent) Ritter of Rapid City; three grandchildren; and his mother of Redfield.
