WILLOW LAKE — Flossie Disrud, 83, of rural Willow Lake, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown after heart complications.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Larson officiating. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church and prior to the service.
Flossie Grimm was born at Rockham to Earnest and Elsie (Carl) Grimm. She graduated from Willow Lake High School in 1947 and obtained her teaching certificate from General Beadle State Normal School at Madison. She taught near Willow Lake.
On Nov. 11, 1955, she married John Disrud. They farmed near Willow Lake until his death in 1992. She worked at Clara Nuttbrock’s store, Willow Lake Locker, Willow Lake School, the potato plant at Clark, Heath’s Greenhouse at Bancroft, was clerk for Collins Township and maintained the Collins Cemetery. She enjoyed collecting pink depression glass, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by two children, Darrell of rural Willow Lake and Denise (Greg) Cooper of Duluth, Minn.; four siblings, Virgil (Dorothy Balough) of Madison, Elsie Houghton of Willow Lake, Robert (Marjorie) of McCook, Neb., and Darwin (Veloy Gustafson) of Estherville, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Betty Grimm of Willow Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, William and Earnest; and a brother-in-law, Albert Houghton.
