HURON – A 19-year-old Huron man is in jail after an early Saturday morning shooting into an occupied residence, police said.
Tyrell Marvin Tompkins faces multiple charges in connection with the 5 a.m. incident in the 1000 block of Wisconsin Avenue Southwest, said Sgt. Brandon Neitzert, public information officer for the Huron Police Department.
Police responded to reports of gunshots and on arrival learned that Tompkins had allegedly been involved in a domestic dispute with a girlfriend and had fled the scene.
Tompkins allegedly fired multiple shots from a .22-caliber rifle at the residence after a dispute with the occupants.
Police took him into custody a short time later without further incident and no injuries were reported, Neitzert said.
Tompkins has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, driving under the influence, open container in a motor vehicle, intentional damage to property, underage consumption and obstructing a law enforcement officer.
