Lilly Hoxsie, 85, of Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET Lilly Hoxsie, 85, of Woonsocket, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at SunQuest Healthcare Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Huron with the Rev. Derek Baum officiating. Burial will be in Eventide Cemetery at Woonsocket. Friends may call at Basham Funeral Home in Woonsocket Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. with the family present.

Lilly Gumb was born Nov. 10, 1927, at Chambers, Neb., to Clarence and Daisy (Palmer) Gumb.

She married Delbert Hoxsie Oct. 9, 1946. They moved to South Dakota in 1957. She ran an in-home daycare for many years.

She is survived by three children, Darrel of Sioux City, Iowa, Linda (Rich) Mees of Alpena and Cheryl (Don) Smith of Woonsocket; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Dunkel of Valentine, Neb., Wilde Studebaker of Burwell, Neb., and Ilene Hulinsky of Broken Bow, Neb.; and two brothers, Ray of Burwell, Neb., and Bill of Sargent, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter, Bonnie; a son, Charles; a daughter-in-law, Ruby; two sisters; and a brother.
