HURON — Raymond P. McWethy Jr., age 59, of Huron, died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at home. His memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 17th at the Huron Christian Church with the Rev. Al Wager officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday afternoon. Arrangements are under the direction of Kuhler Funeral Home. Raymond Parker McWethy Jr. was born February 14, 1953, to Raymond and Martha McWethy in Carpentersville, Illinois. In 1973, he married Brenda Adams at Elgin, Illinois. To this union two children were born, Raymond “Skip” Parker McWethy III and Amber Lea McWethy. Raymond worked at Chicago Rawhide and Vescor Manufacturing in Elgin, Illinois.
Raymond had many hobbies. He loved to cook and often entertained at home for football parties. He liked to garden and also raised many house plants. Raymond liked to fish and also enjoyed his fish tanks at home. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching his grandson Peyton’s football games.
Those preceding him in death were his father in 1986, his mother in 2011, and a brother Glenn several years ago.
Those left to mourn his death include his son, Raymond “Skip” and his wife Lisa of Huron; his daughter, Amber Ross and her friend Matt Merfeld of Sturgis; his grandchildren, Peyton McWethy, Micah Selting, Reese and Reeve Ross; his former wife, Brenda of Miller; four brothers, Pat, Tom, Alan (Tina) and Gene, all of Illinois; two sisters, Ramona (Russell) Harden of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Beverly Bounds of Beardstown, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
