WASILLA, Alaska — Kedo Ketelsen, 91, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012.
A service was held Nov. 2 at Wasilla. Burial was in Fort Richardson National Cemetery at Anchorage, Alaska.
Kedo Ketelsen was born at Huron May 3, 1921. He married Lois Wike of Wallace April 18, 1942. They moved to Plankinton. They enjoyed pheasant hunting, gardening, golfing and walking.
He served in the Navy as a medic with the Marine Corps during World War II. He worked for Standard Oil for 37 years. They retired to Alaska for new adventures. He helped make Christmas chocolates for hundreds of kids and delivered newspapers to fellow residents at the Wasilla Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Jim (MJ) of Vancouver Island, Canada; two daughters, Diane (Rudy) Demoski and LeAnn Marquard, all of Wasilla; a daughter-in-law, Florence Ketelsen of Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas.
