ABERDEEN Eight high school finalists have advanced to the sixth annual BIG Idea Final Competition. The eight finalists were selected from the 207 applications submitted from 30 different schools. First round judges included 105 volunteers from the region along with 32 college entrepreneurship students. The eight finalists include two from Doland High School. The BIG Idea Final Competition is set for Dec. 6 at Northern State University where the finalists will prepare a one-minute Elevator Pitch and a five-minute presentation on their idea. They will compete for cash prizes of $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third place. Scholarships to both Northern State University and Presentation College will also be awarded.
