Huron wrestlers second in Watertown Dual Tourney

WATERTOWN — The Huron wrestling team went 3-0 to reach the championship match on Saturday at the Watertown Dual Tournament.

The Tigers suffered their first loss of the event against Pierre, 44-19, in the title match to finish second.

Huron edged Watertown 41-35 to open the tourney and then cruised past Milbank 70-9 before defeating Mitchell 54-20.

The Tigers, who are now 4-1, will travel to face Sturgis and Rapid City Central in a triangular on Thursday at Rapid City Central. Huron will then stay out west for the Rapid City Invitational, which is scheduled Friday and Saturday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

The Huron junior varsity finished fourth on Saturday in Watertown.

The Tigers defeated Mitchell 42-24 for their lone win in the event.
