HURON ó Dale Kropuenske, 86, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at SunQuest Healthcare Center.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Revillo with burial in St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery, rural Revillo. Visitation will be today from 1 to 7 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. or Thursday at the church beginning at 11 a.m. Visit welterfuneralhome.com.
Dale Kropuenske was born to Gustave and Letha (Gibson) Kropuenske April 7, 1926, in rural Worthing. In 1941 they moved to Revillo where he graduated from high school in 1944. He farmed with his father.
On Feb. 23, 1950, he married Elaine Maas at Revillo. They farmed in Grant County for more than 50 years. They moved to Huron in 1998. He was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Revillo. He was very concerned for nature and the landscape and did his part by planting many trees wherever and whenever he could.
He is survived by two sons, LeRoy (Carolyn) of Pierre and Roger (Julie) of Huron; two grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Kropuenske of Watertown; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Kropuenske of Milbank.
He was preceded in death by his wife on May 19, 2010; and a brother, Gene.
