HURON — Names of more than 500 children have been submitted to receive presents through the Angel Tree located in Kmart at the Huron Mall.
Each child receives two gifts — clothing and a toy.
“As of this morning we had 515 angels, and that’s not counting what might have come in today,” said Marlene Wilson, a Kmart employee who is in charge of the Angel Tree.
“We have never, in all the years we’ve had the angel tree, went to 500,” she added.
People are encouraged to stop at the Angel Tree and select cards to help make the holidays a little brighter for children in this area, Wilson said.
“Aerostar was very good, they came out and picked up about 60 cards, but we have many more cards yet to go,” Wilson added.
