REDFIELD — Milbert “Bill” Sandmeier, 71, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen.
His funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Redfield with the Rev. Brad Traxler officiating. Burial will be in Bohemian Cemetery near Highmore. Milbert Sandmeier was born Oct. 27, 1941, at Roscoe to Samuel and Magdalena (Bader) Sandmeier. He grew up in Watertown and Redfield and married Janice Cermak April 4, 1979 at Faulkton. He worked at the South Dakota Developmental Center-Redfield for 30 years as a painter and carpenter. After his retirement, he enjoyed having coffee with his friends, camping, gardening and growing flowers. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering to fix anything and decorating for Christmas. He collected clocks, hats, tools and fishing equipment.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Samuel (Tiffany) and Anthony, all of Kearney, Neb.; and two grandchildren.
