RAPID CITY — Henry J. Hansen Jr., 80, of Rapid City, died Friday, Jan 4, 2013, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City, with the Rev. Paul Winckler officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Henry J. Hansen Jr. was born in January 1932 to Henry Senior and Lydia (Jerke) Hansen in Woonsocket.
He married Thelma Tapken in August 1951. After leaving the farm in the early 1950s, he worked road construction hauling road oil used to build several state highways in South Dakota and Montana. In 1965 he began hauling road freight. He sold his truck in 2000 and retired from driving in 2002. The couple spent eight summer seasons as Custer State Park volunteers and campground hosts. They spent the winter in Casa Grande, Ariz., for five years.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma; a son, Gerald (Wanda) Hansen; a daughter Velda (Rocky) Runeberg; two grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice Eddy of Woonsocket.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Emma Neumeyer.
