CAVOUR The interior of a long-time Cavour bar was gutted in an early Monday morning fire. No one was hurt.

Cavour Fire Chief Josh Kogel said firefighters were summoned to the Highway 14 Roadhouse shortly after 5 a.m. Iroquois firefighters were called in to help.

The structure itself is still standing, but the contents were destroyed.

A cause remains under investigation. A state fire marshal was on the scene Monday.

Roadblocks were set up to protect firefighters as they battled the flames, but a number of drivers ignored them.

The current owner of the business is Mike Jones.

But the establishment has had several owners and names over the years. It began as a gas station before it was converted to a bar.

The building has been boarded up as the investigation continues.
