Crusaders pull away for win against Iroquois

HURON — Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders defeated Iroquois Chiefs 63-41 Tuesday night at Huron Arena to advance to the consolation championship of the 281 Conference Tournament to be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Crusaders used a 21-7 second period to take a 27-15 half-time lead and never look back.

Brady Brockel had eight of his 12 points in that quarter and Jaden Brockel had seven of his game-high 17 points to lead the Crusaders.

Brian LaDue added four points of his 13 points in the quarter. He also grabbed a game-high 9 rebounds while Jaden Brockel had eight and both Brady Brockel and Chibueze Egeruoh had five.

Jaden Brockel also had a game-high six assists and three steals. Egeruoh had five steals and Daniel Pedersen blocked three shots.

For the Chiefs, Cory Weed had a team-high 13 points off the bench while Wehlander had 10 points and the duo of Chase Decker and Roy Miller each finished with six.

Wehlander grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and had two steals while Jordan Colungo had four to go along with three assists and four points.

The Chiefs will play at 10:30 a.m. in the seventh-place game against Wessington Springs.
