SC-W repeats as 281 champs

HURON — The Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawk girls’ basketball team captured the 281 Conference Tournament title Thursday evening with a 61-56 victory over the Highmore-Harrold Pirates.

The No. 3 ranked Blackhawks were led by Rachelle Moore who was named the Carr Chiropractic Most Valuable Player.

Shelby Selland led all scorers with 28 points and 12 rebounds while McKenzee Zilverberg led the Pirates with 20 points, five rebounds and four assists.

The Blackhawks (8-0) will next be in action on Saturday when they host No. 2 Warner.

The Pirates (10-2) will host Lyman next Thursday in Highmore.
