Bessie M. Koester, 91, of Redfield

REDFIELD — Bessie M. Koester, 91, of Redfield died Jan. 25, 2013. She chose cremation without a service. Her ashes will be buried in the Ashton Cemetery.

Bessie was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Foley, Minn., to Flora Bymers. She was a lifelong resident of Ashton.

She married Duane Koester on June 8, 1943, in Redfield.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandy Wise of Yakima, Wash., Glee Ann (Paul) Shantz of Zell, and Connie (David) Worth of Centennial, Colo.; a brother, Lonnie (Debbie) Zell of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and sister-in-law, Gleva (Chuck) Nighswonger of Hill City, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Duane; her stepfather, Martin Johnson; and brother, Phillip Zell.
