WASHINGTON, Iowa — Bonnie Lea Kempf, 64, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a battle with cancer.
Visitation will be at noon Sunday at the Jones and Eden Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. A private family memorial service will be held.
Bonnie Lea Bittner was born Sept. 9,1948, in Huron to Rubin and Waneta (Wahl) Bittner. She graduated from high school in Alpena.
On Sept. 13, 1969, Bonnie married David Kempf in Huron. She worked most of her life as a secretary in schools and hospitals. She volunteered at the Washington County Hospital Gift Shop. She enjoyed reading, sewing and shopping.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Kempf of Washington, Iowa; daughters Kris Kempf, of Keokuk, Iowa, and Kara (Josh) Sobaski of Packwood, Iowa; sisters, Betty (Allen) Olsen and Barbara Noel, both of Huron; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ben.
