MITCHELL — The Huron Tiger wrestling team earned four individual titles en route to a second-place finish at the Eastern South Dakota Conference Tournament on Saturday.
Pierre, which had six individual champions, won the conference title with 211.5 points. Huron was second at 144, followed by Aberdeen Central at 134. Rounding out the field of eight teams were Brookings at 94, Brandon Valley at 92.5, Yankton at 80, Watertown at 41 and Mitchell at 34.
The Tigers had a total of eight placewinners in the event.
Winning championships for Huron were Chet Glanzer at 126 pounds, Hartman Katz at 152, Reagan Francom at 160 and Tyler Kleinsasser at 182.
Also reaching the championship match for the Tigers were Wyatt Shillingstad at 113 and Dustin French at 195. Both finished as runners-up.
Matt Halter was third for Huron at 285, while Jeremiah Johnson was fourth at 220.
Saturday’s tournament closed the regular season for the Tigers. Huron will open the postseason on Saturday at the Region 3A Tournament in Aberdeen at 10 a.m.
