WOONSOCKET Carl Andrew Anderson, 79, of Woonsocket, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket.

His funeral Mass will be today at 10 a.m. at St.Wilfrid Catholic Church in Woonsocket with the Rev. Jim Friedrich officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by Woonsocket American Legion Post 29.

Funeral arrangements were announced by Basham Funeral Home in Woonsocket.

Carl Andrew Anderson was born July 1, 1933, in Woonsocket to Oscar and Mabel (Regynski) Anderson. He attended school in Lane and Woonsocket. He joined the Air Force Jan. 27, 1952, and was discharged Jan. 26, 1956.

On June 28, 1956, he married Rosemary Vetter in Woonsocket. He farmed with Alex Vetter, did construction work, worked as a chef, and on the Don Olinger farm. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Packer fan. He was a member of St. Wilfrid Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Woonsocket American Legion.

He is survived by one son, Brian Anderson of Huron; two daughters, Mary (Jim) Taylor and Barbara Anderson, both of Madison, Wis.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jean Sovis of Bloomington, Minn.; a brother, Al Foos of Woonsocket; four nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Mark; a brother, Harry; a sister, Joanne; two nephews and a niece.
