ABERDEEN — The Huron wrestling team qualified 11 wrestlers for the Class A State Tournament on Saturday at the Region 3A Tournament.
The Tigers finished third overall in the seven-team event.
Pierre amassed 212 points to claim the region title, while Aberdeen Central was second at 185.5. Huron was third at 164, followed by Mitchell at 81.5 and Chamberlain at 61.5.
The Tigers had four individual champions out of the five wrestlers who reached the title match.
Winning titles for Huron were Chet Glanzer at 126 pounds, Hartman Katz at 152, Reagan Francom at 160 and Matt Halter at 285. Wyatt Shillingstad was second at 113.
Finishing third for the Tigers were Trent Francom at 106, Connor Gose at 170, Tyler Kleinsasser at 182 and Dustin French at 195.
Nick Christian at 138 and Arthur Hines at 145 were fourth for Huron.
The Tigers will begin competition at the Class A State Tournament on Friday in Watertown and conclude their season on Saturday.
