HURON — A rash of break-ins at farm houses in Beadle County has law enforcement authorities asking the public for help.
Since last Friday, there have been four reports of burglaries in various areas of the county, said Sheriff Doug Solem.
They have occurred south of Cavour, north of Huron and south of Virgil. The latest incident happened Wednesday between 3 and 6 p.m.
Solem said the thieves have taken a number of things, including guns, jewelry, cash, television sets, computer screens, ammunition and other hunting accessories and even deer mounts off the wall.
In three out of four of the break-ins, the door was unlocked.
Authorities have received reports of a four-door, brown sedan that may be involved.
Solem is asking people to write down the license plate numbers of any unfamiliar vehicles and also to report any odd behavior such as vehicles coming into the yard. For the complete article see the 02-22-2013 issue.
