BRYANT — Shad Peckenpaugh, 48, of Hayti, and formerly of Bryant, died on March 2, 2013.
Service will be held on Wednesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bryant at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening at the Lake Norden Community Center in Lake Norden from 5 to 7 p.m.
Shad Peckenpaugh was born to Ronnie and Bev Peckenpaugh on March 16, 1964, in DeSmet. He attended Hamlin High School, and graduated in 1982. He attended Southwest State University in Marshall, Minn. where he played football, setting an all time rushing record that stood until 2010.
He married Laurel Peterson in 1986 in Tracy, Minn. He worked for Schwan’s and received multiple sales awards. He was promoted to management with Schwan’s in 1990, and the couple moved to Wisconsin. He started working for Tate Enterprises in 2000 where he managed a mulch company and Lake Country Disposal. He worked at The Bullpen bar and restaurant, and also at the Bochek farm for three years.
He enjoyed hunting, motorcycling and boating.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Peckenpaugh of Germantown, Wis.; parents, Ronnie and Bev Peckenpaugh of Bryant; brothers Mark (Lu Ann), Dodd, Troy, Bun, Ryan and Shaun (Marisa), and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bun and Dena Peckenpaugh, and Harold and Evelyn Moeller.
