SIOUX FALLS — Betty Cowing Brodersen, 86, of Sioux Falls and formerly of Huron, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Southridge Care Center, Sioux Falls.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Huron, with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.
Betty Cowing Brodersen was born Aug. 27, 1926, at Huron to Henry and Viola (Hannon Bloodgood) Teuber. She attended Huron schools and was a member of First Baptist Church.
She worked on the Armour Pork Processing Plant in Huron for 42 years. She was married to Harry Cowing for several years and they later divorced. She was briefly married to Vern Brodersen. She raised her three children in Huron.
She was a very active person and enjoyed dancing, music, camping, boating, walking, having coffee and telling jokes. She liked to decorate.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Cowing of Nicevill, Fla., Sandra (Leo) Reynolds of Sioux Falls, and Kelly Betts of Sioux Falls; four siblings, Douglas Teuber, Lila Boss, Phyllis Paulson, Judy Cockerham; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Glen Teuber, Marjorie Bayer, Larry Teuber, and Constance Streich.
