BANCROFT — Donna Fox, 81, of Bancroft, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church in De Smet, with Dr. Young Son and the Rev. Kris Larson officiating. Burial will be in LeSeuer Cemetery, Bancroft. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet.
Donna R. Petschow was born in Pipestone, Minn. on Nov. 6, 1931, to Robert F. and Bernice (Foreman) Petschow. She graduated from Elkton High School in 1949. She attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls and graduated from Nettleton in 1950.
She was married to James Fox in Elkton on Sept. 3, 1950. They moved to Bancroft in 1951, and began farming.
She was a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian church in Bancroft. She taught Sunday school and was Sunday school superintendent. She was involved with the music programs and ladies aid in her church, and was vice president and church treasurer since 1961. She was the community rummage sale chairman, a school board member at Bancroft, and secretary of the Iroquois PTA. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club in Huron, where she served as secretary treasurer and hostess.
She is survived by her husband, James of Bancroft; her daughter, Deborah (Dennis) Ranschau, and son, Doug (Carrol) Fox, both of Bancroft; one daughter in law, Valerie Fox of Sioux Falls; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. For the complete article see the 03-09-2013 issue.
