REDFIELD ó Cyril J. Dangel, 91, of Redfield, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Eastern Star Home in Redfield.
His funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernardís Catholic Church in Redfield, with the Rev. Christopher Hughes officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernardís Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, all at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. The family prefers memorials directed to the donorís choice.
Cyril J Dangel was born June 1, 1921, to William and Edna (Wood) Dangel on a farm near Northville. He attended Northville City School for 12 years. He attended Aberdeen Business College in 1939 and worked at AOUW Insurance Company in Aberdeen.
He enlisted in the Navy Air Corps in August 1942. He was honorably discharged Nov. 1, 1945..
He married Desamore Wright on Feb. 15, 1947, in Redfield. He started Dangel Insurance Agency in 1966 and retired in 1982.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Desamore Dangel; his children: Douglas (Diane) Dangel of Redfield, and Michael (Juanita) Dangel of Merrimack, N.H.; a son-in-law Jeff Jungwirth of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eileen Kramer, Iola Mulloy and Zelda (Lee) Bain; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Jungwirth in 1995, and brothers-in-law, Elmer Kramer and Maurice Mulloy.For the complete article see the 03-09-2013 issue.
