HURON — Florence Hunt, age 89, of Huron, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at the SunQuest Health Care Center. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12th, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Holland, officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home with her family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church Foundation. Florence Mae Evans was born April 11, 1923, to Frank and Mona Belle (Moody) Evans at Burlington, Colo. She grew up in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1942. She worked at Model Laundry until she married Russell Marion Hunt on Oct. 8, 1949, at Huron.
She was a member of the Domestic Engineers Extension Club, Lioness club, VFW Auxiliary and the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell on May 25, 1979; one son, Scott; one granddaughter, Jill; one great-grandson, Tanner; two sisters, Jean Nickel and Lois Weikum; and two brothers, Robert Evans and Russell Evans.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Morris (Kathy Marion) Hunt of Topeka, Kan., and Roger Hunt of Huron; her daughter, Ginger Saunders of Huron; her daughter-in-law, Deb Hunt of Vista, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Valerie Hunt, Tara (Joe) Koeck, Andrew Hunt, Annie Martin, Mandy Hunt, Mona (Ken) Peterson, Eric Rittel, Trisha (J) Koschney and Samantha Saunders; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Nikki Evans and Loretta Hunt, both of Huron, and Violet Williamson of North Bend, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
