The 35th annual Festival for Young Voices took place in Brookings on March 12. Nineteen students from Huron Middle School took part in the festival, held at the Performing Arts Center on the South Dakota State University campus. Front row, from left, are Alexis Urena, Abby Pyle, Alissa Gauer, Alyssa Schwartz, Brenden Corbett, Hailey Haber and Thaw Htoo; second row, Callee Neihus, Karlee Richman, Juliana Smith, Seth Overbay, Landon Claeys, Henry Rubish and Cooper Timm; and in back, Courtney Hoogland, Allison Valero, Emily Arteman, Carson Hruby and Sam Kretschmar. Their director is Teresa Smith. The public is invited to the HMS spring vocal concert Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the HMS gymnasium, where students who attended the festival will also perform their pieces. Everyone is invited to attend. There is a small admission fee for adults.
