HURON — It’s that time of year again for the assessment freeze for the elderly and disabled in Beadle County.
Those who wish to participate must meet the following guidelines.
Applicants need to be 65 on or before Jan. 1, 2013 or disabled during 2012 and proof of disability is required.
They also need to have been a South Dakota resident for at least one year and have lived in their single family dwelling for at least two hundred days of the previous calendar year.
This requires all income from 2012.
Applicants need to bring in their 2012 proof of income in order to fill out an application.
Income guidelines are:
• for single income it is $26,020.21 and under.
• for a household with more than one income the amount is $32,525.26 and under.
Deadline for the application is Monday, April 1, 2013.
