HMS oral interp team competes in contest

Members of the Huron Middle School Oral Interpretation team took part in a contest March 23 at Mitchell Middle School with 13 students in grades seven and eight participating.

The coaches are HMS teachers Marianne Trandall, Bobbie Matthews and Justin Heyd.

Top placers in the competition include:

Eighth grade oratory: Marilyn Wolff (excellent)

• Seventh grade duet: George and Max Mitchell (superior)

• Eighth grade duet: Grant Duvall and Caleb Schoenfelder (excellent-plus); and Thet Hlaing and Moo Kho Htee (excellent-plus); and Micah Brown and John Litwiller III (superior)

•Eighth grade humorous: Grant Duvall (excellent-plus) and Caleb Schoenfelder (excellent-plus)

• Eighth grade serious prose: Brenden Corbett (excellent-plus), John Litwiller III (superior) and Elijah Nelson (superior)

• Seventh grade humorous: Sam Gilbert (excellent) and Kimberly Alvarado (excellent-plus).
