ABERDEEN — The Huron track teams opened their season on Thursday at Al Sahli Invitational at the Barnett Center in Aberdeen.
The Tigers emerged with a handful of placewinners, including one individual title.
Reagan Francom cleared 14-feet, 6-inches to win the boys’ pole vault event for Huron by a foot and a half.
Francom also finished sixth in the 200-meter dash for Huron with a time of 24.9 seconds.
Tessa Musil and Lexi Chase were second and third, respectively, for the Tigers in the girls’ pole vault.
Musil cleared 10-0 to finish six inches shy of the mark set by the event winner, while Chase cleared 9-6.
Sami Zell was sixth for Huron in the 55 hurdles with a time of 9.90 seconds, while Tyler Kleinsasser had a throw of 44-0 to finish sixth for the Tigers in the shot put.
The Huron track teams are scheduled to compete in their first outdoor meet of the season — the Huron Invitational at Tiger Stadium — at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
