SC-W’s Moore signs to play basketball at Dakota State

MADISON — Sanborn Central-Woonsocket’s Rachelle Moore has signed a letter of intent to join coach Jeff Dittman and the Dakota State University basketball team in the fall.

Moore, 5-foot-6-inch point guard from Sanborn Central-Woonsocket (under head coach Tim McCain and Rob Baruth), was named to all-conference first team three times in both 281 and Custer Battlefield Highway Conferences. As a team captain, she was selected as the 281 Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Moore averaged 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals per game for Sanborn Central-Woonsocket. She holds the school records in most assists in a season and game.

In addition, Moore holds the school record for most steals in a single season. She was selected to play in the Southeast All-Star game and 3-Class Shootout game.

Moore earned Academic All-State, A-Honor Roll and Student of the Month honors for her academic success in school. She is a Student Council President and a member of the National Honor Society.

Moore is the daughter of Jerry and Pam Moore of Artesian She plans to major in Business Management-/Marketing at DSU.
