HURON — The Huron Community Foundation has completed its $30,000 pledge to Central Park by making the final payment of $10,000.

Board members made the presentation this week to Laura McGirr, who became Central Park manager on Feb. 1.

The foundation is also gearing up for its annual fundraiser — the game featuring the Sioux Falls Canaries and the Sioux City Explorers which is set for May 10 at Memorial Stadium.

To help promote the new Splash Central water park, vouchers will be distributed to students of area schools prior to the opening of the water park.

The vouchers can be redeemed by students when they attend the Canaries game for a free, one-day Splash Central youth pass.

The one-day passes are valid for the 2013 inaugural season of Splash Central.

The park’s feature ride is the Master Blaster, and the facility is the newest water park in the Midwest.
