MITCHELL — The Huron girls’ golf team finally got to open its season on Friday at the Mitchell Invitational, which was played at the Lakeview Golf Course.
The Tigers turned in a score of 361 to finish tied for fifth with Aberdeen Central in the 18-team meet.
Parkston shot a 317 to earn the top spot, while Pierre was second at 335. Yankton was third at 343, followed by Sioux Falls O’Gorman at 348.
Halee Allerdings led Huron with an 87, which placed her in a four-way tie for 17th. Cassidy Entwisle carded a 90 to share the 25th spot.
Kami Love had a 91 for the Tigers to finish tied for 28th, while Taylar Rotert, who was expected to miss the first part of the season due to a knee injury suffered in basketball, turned in a 93 for the Tigers to finish tied for spot No. 36.
Rounding out the lineup for Huron were Taylor Flanery at 100 and Sara Skorheim at 114.
Hallie Getz of Pierre finished at 71 to earn the medalist honors, while Jordan Bormann of Parkston and Megan Mingo of Yankton shared the second spot with scores of 76. Kristin Sabers of Mitchell and Sydney Bormann of Parkston each shot 79 to share the fourth spot.
