REDFIELD — Adella VanBuren, 92, of Redfield, and formerly of Huron, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Redfield hospital.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Huron with the Rev. Tim Fugman officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Kuhler Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church Monday.
Adella Waddington was born Dec. 4, 1920, at Redfield to John and Pearl Waddington. She grew up at Redfield and graduated from Redfield High School.
She married Kenneth VanBuren and they lived in LaJolla, Calif., where she worked at Scripps Memorial Hospital for 17 years. They returned to Huron and she was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ, a member of the Nyoda Girl Scouts — Hall of Fame and the VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth on Nov. 17, 1997; two sons, Dick Wallman and Jerry Wallman; six brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by one brother, Dean Waddington of Redfield; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. For the complete article see the 05-05-2013 issue.
