Wolsey-Wessington boys, JVC girls win 281 titles

HURON — Wolsey-Wessington tallied 154 points to edge James Valley Christian by seven points for the boys’ title in 281 Conference Track Meet, which was held Tuesday at Tiger Stadium.

Hitchcock-Tulare was third in the final boys’ standings with 104 points, followed by Sunshine Bible Academy at 96, Highmore-Harrold at 83, Wessington Springs at 61 and Sanborn Central-Woonsocket at 38.

Brady Brockel of Sunshine Bible Academy was voted as the meet’s outstanding boys’ senior.

James Valley Christian repeated as the 281 Conference champ in the girls’ division with 160 points.

Highmore-Harrold finished at 106, which put it one point in front of Hitchcock-Tulare for the second spot. Wolsey-Wessington was fourth at 78, followed by Sanborn Central-Woonsocket at 75, Wessington Springs at 68 and Sunshine Bible Academy at 54.

Jaclyn Loban of JVC was named as the outstanding senior girl in the meet.
