Posted: Friday, May 10th, 2013

HURON An accident involving two all-terrain vehicles Tuesday evening in northeast Huron seriously injured one driver.

Aaron Laird, 18, of 905 Frank Ave. S.E., was first taken to Huron Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital.

Police said an ATV driven by 19-year-old Quincy Burdick, 714 Minnesota Ave. S.W., was pulling a second ATV operated by Laird at about 8:30 p.m. when the tow cable became slack and rolled up into the rear axle of the lead ATV.

Laird lost control and the vehicle went into the ditch and rolled.

The accident happened on 15th Street Northeast, west of Iowa Avenue Northeast.
