HURON Huron Signature Plus needed just five innings to get past Mitchell Black 13-2 on Friday in the final game of a teener baseball doubleheader at Klock Field.

Rick Strubel pitched four innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out nine to earn the victory.

Bennett White pitched the final inning.

Signature Plus put five runs on the board in the first inning and then scored seven runs on six hits in the fourth inning to break it open.

White had a pair of hits for Huron, while Jesse Mikrut had a double and two RBIs.

Parker DeJean and Riley Gohn also had two RBIs each.

The victory in the nightcap helped Signature Plus earn a split in the twinbill after Mitchell won the opening game 14-5.

Greg Conrad and Sam Kretschmar each had two hits, including a double, and an RBI to spark Huron offensively.

Kretschmar pitched the first four innings, allowing eight runs of which two were earned, as Signature Plus racked up four errors.

DeJean was on the mound for two innings and White threw the final inning.

Huron, which improved to 4-4, will host Brookings in a doubleheader at 5 p.m. Thursday at Klock Field.
