Delmer Johnson, 88, of Cavour, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kelly Smith officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with military rites by the Huron Veterans Council. Visitation will be today from 1 to 7 p.m. at Kuhler Funeral Home.
Delmer Ingle Johnson was born Dec. 4, 1924, to Frank and Winnie (Ingle) Johnson in Beadle County. He grew up on a farm in the Cavour area and graduated from Cavour High School. He joined the army. He returned to farming in the Cavour area until he retired in the late 1990s.
On June 12, 1970, he married Patricia Mier at Huron. He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and the Huron American Legion.
He was preceded death by his parents and his wife, Patricia, on March 1, 1991.
He is survived by his special friend, Kathleen of Cavour; his sister, Marilyn Green of Miami, Fla.; and a niece and nephew.For the complete article see the 06-16-2013 issue.
