HURON — Philip (Bud) Heisel, 89, of Huron, and formerly of Wessington Springs, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Foothills Bible Fellowship Church in Wessington Springs with the Rev. Don Grubb officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Restlawn Memory Garden Cemetery in Huron. Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Philip Heisel was born on Dec. 3, 1923, in Jerauld County to Oma Lindley and Philip Heisel, Sr. He attended Wessington Springs High School. He then served in the army during World War II.
On Sept. 6, 1947, he married Betty Neitzert of Huron.
He was a member of the Foothills Bible Fellowship Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Huron; three brothers, Cleo (Clara) Heisel, Bob (Elaine) Heisel, both of Oregon, and Jerry Heisel of Mitchell; one daughter, Carol (Marvin) Colbenson, of Fountain City, Wis.; two sisters, Maggie Doering of Wessington Springs and Aloha McPeek of Madison;four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Clifford, in 1973, and a sister, Iva Wenzel.
