VOLGA — Frances L. Walraven, 93, of Volga, formerly of the Erwin and Bryant areas, died at the Arlington Care Center on June 22. Services have been set for Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Bryant, with the Rev. Marjie Brewton officiating. Visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Osthus Funeral Chapel in Bryant. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bryant.
Frances LaVonne Walraven was born in Broadland on March 9, 1920, to Henry and Elsie (Urban) Poulisse. She attended school in Broadland.
She married Ollie Walraven on Oct. 15, 1936, in Huron. They farmed together and custom combined for eight years before retiring.
She was an active member of the United Church of Christ in both Erwin and Bryant and was a 4-H leader for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, M’Liss (John) Fuhr of Arlington and Patricia (Robert) Larson of Hayti; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ollie.
