HIGHMORE — Clara Hall, 105, of Highmore, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Highmore Health, Highmore.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. today at the United Methodist Church, Highmore with the Rev. Roger Day officiating. Burial will follow at the Highmore Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Clara Mable Ratzlaff was born on Aug. 24, 1907, to Isaac and Eva (Boese) Ratzlaff at their home ten miles south of Highmore.
On July 11, 1942, she married Elias Hall at the Church of Christ in Highmore.
On March 21, 1981 she married Otto Hoff.
She attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, now the Grace Bible Church. She taught children’s Sunday school for many years and belonged to the Christian Women’s group.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Bill) Shanks of New Lenox, Ill.; children, Marie (Bryan) Fritch of Sylvania, Ohio, Tim Shanks of New Lenox, Ill.; Sarah (Tom) Kohl of Plainfield, Ill., Charity (Jason) Nowicki of Plainfield, Ill., Melvin (Myrna) Hall of Highmore; two brothers, Sidney Ratzlaff of Boise, Idaho and Leroy (Rena) Ratzlaff of Highmore; sisters-in-law, Laura Ratzlaff, of Springfield, Mo., Grace Ratzlaff, of Lake Wales, Fla., Frances Ratzlaff, of Highmore; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Hall; brothers, Gilbert, Alvin, Leslie, Arnold, Orville and Willis; sisters, Esther, Rosa, Ida, Virginia, Florence, Mary and Ruby; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and second husband, Otto Hoff.
