WHITE LAKE — A Redfield man died in a motorcycle crash, but a granddaughter riding with him had only minor injuries, authorities said.
The accident happened at 9:18 a.m. Thursday three miles west of White Lake on Interstate 90.
Donald Lewis, 82, was riding a 1988 Harley Davidson FLTC motorcycle west on the interstate when it left the roadway to the right and entered the ditch. He lost control of the motorcycle and rolled.
Both Lewis and his 12-year-old granddaughter were thrown from the motorcycle and Lewis sustained fatal injuries. Both were wearing helmets. Members of the Lewis family were also riding motorcycles and traveling with him.
The Highway Patrol is investigating. Assisting are the Aurora County Sheriff’s office, White Lake Fire and Rescue and the Brule County Sheriff’s office.For the complete article see the 07-12-2013 issue.
