SACOTA (Springs Area Council Of The Arts) will sponsor a variety of musical entertainment at the 1905 Opera House in Wessington Springs at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 21. Three ensembles or soloists will share their talents in this “Triple Play” event. The varied styles of music, as well as the ages/stages of the performers will delight the entire family.
Green Onions, which includes two Wessington Springs High School students and their dads, will open the program with music from the 1960s-70s. Kelly McPhail and her dad, Tom, are joined by Zachary Paulson and his dad, John, in this unique ensemble.
This group will be followed by Deach Koch, area attorney, who combines vocal/guitar songs with humorous and colorful stories. He plays well-known music as well as original songs, and has performed in several South Dakota communities, including the S.D. State Fair.
The third component for this Triple Play program will be the recently organized Wessington Springs Community Choir, facilitated by MaryJane (Dean) Belz who has returned to her home community to retire.
