FARGO, N.D. — Sunshine Bible Academy standout Brady Brockel has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his education and compete for the track and field team at North Dakota State University.
Brockel won state titles in the 400- and 800-meter races during his senior season in 2013 and was named the Class B MVP. He was a member of the state championship teams in the 1,600 and 3,200 relays for the Crusaders during the 2012 season. Both also placed during the 2013 state meet.
Brockel set the SBA school record in the 400 at 49.37 seconds and has run a 1:58 in the 800. He earned all-conference honorable mention in football as a wide receiver and quarterback and was a second team all-conference pick in basketball as the leading scorer for the Crusaders.
Brockel will be among 10 newcomers for the NDSU men’s track and field team, which has won four consecutive Summit League outdoor titles and four of the last six Summit League indoor titles.
