MILLER — Dorothy Marshall, 91, of Miller, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society of Miller.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Lawrence Community Church with the Rev. Scot Tutt officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. prayer service, all at Reck Funeral Home, Miller.
Dorothy Marshall was born Nov. 11, 1921, to James and Maude (Key) Carter.
She married Francis Marshall on May 8, 1946, in Pierre. She then attended Wessington Springs College and became a teacher, teaching elementary school in Hand County for 41 years.
She also enjoyed crocheting and other crafts.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon (Bob) Lunne of Dallas, and Karon (Merle) Stevens of Wessington Springs; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Leone Liebers of Ladysmith, Wis., Lois Harris of Jonesville, N.C., Jim Carter of Venice, Fla., Rachel Rediger of Mesa, Ariz., Roger (Aloa) Carter of McLeansville, N.C., Dixie (Al) Young, of Woodway, Wash. and Dale (Suzanne) Carter of Montrose, Colo.; special nephew, Lyle (Pam) Williams, St. Lawrence; brother-in-law, Lyle (Evelyn) Marshall of Rapid City, and sister-in-law, Rosella Marshall, Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; and three sisters, Virginia Carter, Viola Webber and Evelyn Fanning.
