WHITE LAKE ó Hazel Wilson, 82, of White Lake, died Aug. 9, 2013, at Edgewood Vista in Sioux Falls surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Saint Peterís Catholic Church of White Lake. Burial will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Saint Peterís Catholic Church. The Bittner Funeral Chapel of Mitchell is in charge of arrangements.
Hazel Lucille Anton was born to Joseph and Bertha (Wolf) Anton on Sept. 3, 1930, in White Lake. She graduated from White Lake High School in 1948 and attended Notre Dame Academy and Dakota Wesleyan University.
She married John Wilson on Sept. 12, 1949.
She worked at the South Dakota Training School in Plankinton for many years. She worked at Aurora Brule Nursing Home after her retirement from the Training School.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, sewing and gardening.
She was a member of Saint Peterís Catholic Church in White Lake and Saint Michaelís Catholic Church in Sioux Falls and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her five children, Jack (Sheryl) Wilson of Hurley, Randy (Darla) Wilson of Colman, Rob Wilson of Everett Wash., Kathy Roti (Dennis Moldrem) of Huron and Mary Engel of Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Hoefert, of Wessington Springs; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; one brother, Alvin; one sister, Carol Hettinger; and two brothers-in-law, John Hettinger and Ray Hoefert.For the complete article see the 08-13-2013 issue.
