PAYSON, Ariz. — Evelyn Joyce Tschetter, 66, of Payson, Ariz., and formerly of Huron, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, under hospice care in Payson following a battle with cancer
A memorial tea to celebrate her life will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 7 at the herb garden in Sioux Park along Canyon Lake Drive at Rapid City.

Evelyn Joyce Rabenberg was born April 24, 1947, to Bert and Doris (Rusche) Rabenberg in Huron. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Bancroft. She attended Ferguson Country Grade School in Kingsbury County. She graduated from Bancroft High School in 1965. She attended Northwest Business College of Commerce in Huron.
She married Don Tschetter on June 4, 1966. They lived in San Diego, Calif., then moved to Rapid City where she worked for the Pennington County Highway Department as office manager for 23 years. She completed a Master Gardener program in 1996. She was a member of the Rapid City Garden Club for many years. She volunteered in the park areas, particularly the herb garden. She judged horticulture at the Rapid City Central State Fair for more than five years.
She is survived by her husband, Don Tschetter of Payson; a sister, Deanna (Jerry) Walter of Ten Sleep, Wyo.; a brother, Gordon Rabenberg of Ramsey, Minn.; several aunts and uncles, including Mae Verch of Huron, Ruth Poppen of De Smet, and Clarence (Norma) Rabenberg of De Smet; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
