The Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) board of directors recently voted to contribute $3,000 to Huronís Adult Day Services, according to Dr. Karl Blessinger, HRMC board chairman.
The mission of the Huron Adult Day Services program is to provide a caring atmosphere and assist the elderly and handicapped in remaining in their homes as long as possible. The program provides daily activities for seniors and handicapped individuals who desire companionship and interaction. Directed by registered nurse Ruth Eilers, Huronís Adult Day Services is located in an area adjacent to the Huron Senior Center. The cost of service is based on a donation for participants age 60 and over and a minimal fee for those under the age of 60. A volunteer board oversees the community service, which also receives funding from the Heartland Region United Way.
HRMC has supported the Adult Day Services program for many years. ďOur long-standing partnership with this program fits perfectly with helping us to achieve our mission of working together with individuals and organizations in the region to promote and improve community health,Ē said Dr. Blessinger. For the complete article see the 09-06-2013 issue.
