Calling all thrift store Marilyn Monroe’s and dime store cowboys — pull out those dusty vintage duds and get ready for fun at the Gypsy Prom.
The Gypsy Prom, a fundraiser to benefit the Knights of Columbus, will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at Gross Hill Barn, along North Shore Drive on the north side of Lake Byron.
Transportation to and from the event will be available for a small fee, and those who would like a ride are asked to call 350-0345 for reservations prior to Sept. 16.
The In and Out Band from Huron will provide music for the evening prom.
A grand march will be held at 8 p.m., and at 10 p.m., “Roadkill Stew” (beef stew) will be served, along with macaroni and cheese and beverages.
A photo booth will be open from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. to help capture Gypsy Prom memories!
Advance tickets are available at Dakotaland Federal Credit Union and American Bank & Trust.
Money raised at the fundraiser will help the Knights of Columbus install new doors, insulation and do some interior work to their building.
The Knights of Columbus, the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization, has been active in Huron for more than 100 years.
The organization meets monthly, and holds a pancake breakfast to benefit different groups every fourth Sunday, Lenten fish frys and the annual Tootsie Roll Drive to benefit the disabled.
